The farmhouse remains off grid, with the water supply coming directly off the hills. Basic electricity for lamps and a small fridge freezer, is provided by a small array of solar panels.

There are no mod cons here: no power shower, television, dish washer, washing machine; forget electric kettles, liquidizers, hairdryers and irons! Mobile phone reception is patchy for some. There is limited hot water that runs from the oil-fired Aga for the main bathroom and on the other side of the house, the wood burning stove needs to be lit in order to draw a bath.

The farmhouse has been very carefully renovated by London conservation architects, keeping original features and has been simply and tastefully decorated with furniture selected with care and custom printed natural fabrics dressing the windows which overlook the hills of north Wales.
